welcome back
Parents and Guardians of RISING YWA 10th, 11th, and 12th graders! We have an amazing opportunity for your students! The Young Women's Preparatory Network is accepting applications for a summer program scholarship!  If your student has been interested in applying for one of those prestigious summer programs but the funding has been holding you back, this is an opportunity to win a scholarship to help your student attend a program of their choice.  There are two types: 1. One application is for RISING 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to a national summer program of their choice. If awarded, they will cover the registration fee. The family and our campus will work together to cover transportation and lodging fees. I will have some resources for you to research after the zoom session. 2. The second application is for RISING Seniors only and covers up to $15,000 for an International Summer Program. I will have some resources for you to research after the zoom session. We will host an information zoom session on Thursday, Jan. 16th at 10:30am & 5:30pm. Parents/Guardians must attend one of these sessions in order to receive the application link and resources to help your student chose a program.  Sign up for the zoom meeting 1/16 (QR Code is on flyer) The initial review of the application will be done in-house through a committee formed by CIT. This committee will choose the strongest applicant(s) based on YWPN criteria (to be shared in the information meeting). The idea is to ensure these applicants' applications are competitive with other YWPN applicants, checking for passion and strong writing skills. Our desire is to have your student awarded a scholarship! We will be with you along the way and available for any questions as you research the summer program and fill out the application. The student will need the parent/guardian to be fully involved in the process. We can only send the strongest applicants to YWPN for their scholarship review. We are happy to help your scholar build the strongest application. If you have any questions, please email Naomi Conner, nvconner@episd.org. Naomi Conner College Success Advisor
